Terms and Conditions for Tutees (Parents/Students)

1. Payment and Commission

Free Matching Services:
TopTutors.sg Home Tuition’s matching services are free-of-charge for the tutee.

Commission Structure:

• • Commission is charged based on the tutor’s tuition fees for the first month.
  • Upon completion of the lessons in the first month, a 40% commission will be charged to the tutor as agency fees.
  • Parents make payment to TopTutors.sg Home Tuition Agency after receiving an invoice. Payments can be made via methods specified in the invoice.

Subsequent Payments:

• • TopTutors.sg will inform parents when subsequent payments may be made directly to the tutor. The payment method and frequency should be mutually agreed upon by the client and the tutor.

Additional Tuition Services:

• • Any additional services, such as tutoring an extra subject or teaching siblings, must be disclosed to TopTutors.sg Home Tuition and will also be subject to the 40% commission.

2. Last-Minute Cancellations & Postponement of First Lesson

Notification Requirement:

• • If a reschedule or cancellation is necessary, you must inform us at least 6 hours in advance.
  • If notification is given less than 6 hours before the lesson, the client will be liable for 50% of the first lesson’s fees as compensation for the tutor’s time and transportation costs.

Rescheduling Outside Working Hours:

• • For rescheduling requests outside our working hours (Mon-Sun, 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM), clients can contact the tutor directly to rearrange the lesson.

Compensation for Late Notice:

• • If clients fail to inform within the 6-hour window, they may be liable to pay 50% of the first lesson’s fees to compensate for the tutor’s time and services rendered by TopTutors.sg Home Tuition.

Emergency Cancellations:

• • TopTutors.sg Home Tuition understands that emergencies may arise. Such cases will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

3. Changing of Tutors

Client’s Right to Change Tutors:

• • Clients may request a change in tutor at any time.
  • If the tuition is canceled or the tutor is changed within the first month by the client, the client will still be charged for the lessons conducted by the previous tutor.

4. Authentication of Tutor Profiles/Documents/Qualifications

Right to Verify:

• • Clients have the right to request the educational certifications of tutors to verify their qualifications and credibility.

Request Process:

• • TopTutors.sg Home Tuition will request these documents on behalf of the client and forward them, provided the tutor grants permission to share them.

Disclaimer:

• • TopTutors.sg Home Tuition is not responsible for any falsehoods or untrue information provided by tutors in their applications.
  • If a client discovers that a tutor has committed fraud, please inform TopTutors.sg Home Tuition immediately, and we will assist in making a police report.

5. Tutor Matching Service

No Guarantee of Grade Improvement:

• • TopTutors.sg Home Tuition does not guarantee that tutoring will lead to an improvement in the student’s grades.
  • We provide a tutor matching service. Once lessons have been carried out, clients are required to pay for the tuition fees for the lessons attended by the student, regardless of satisfaction.

Feedback and Tutor Swap:

• • We welcome client feedback and are willing to arrange a tutor swap if the client is dissatisfied with the lessons conducted.

6. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

Acknowledgment of Terms:

• • By engaging our tutor matching service, you acknowledge and accept the Terms and Conditions outlined above regarding the tuition service provided by TopTutors.sg Home Tuition.
