Terms and Conditions for Tutors

1. Age Limit to Become a Tutor

Minimum Age Requirement:

• • All tutors registered with TopTutors.sg Home Tuition must be at least 16 years old.
  • Tutors must have successfully passed their GCE “O” Levels or possess an equivalent academic qualification.

2. Submission of Educational Documents

Accuracy of Information:

• • All information and documents submitted by tutors must be accurate.
  • Parents have the right to request verification of educational documents, such as certificates, directly from the tutors.

3. Commission Amount

Payment Process:

• • TopTutors.sg Home Tuition will invoice the parents and facilitate payment at the start of the tuition assignment.
  • Tutors will be informed when they can collect payment directly from the parents.

Commission Structure:

• • TopTutors.sg Home Tuition collects a one-time commission of 40% of the first month’s lessons from its tutors.
  • The commission will be collected directly from the client, with no further action required from the tutor.

Direct Payments:

• • If the parent pays the tutor directly, the tutor is required to pay the 40% commission to TopTutors.sg Home Tuition via PayNow or bank transfer.

Commission Collection:

• • If the parent is unwilling or unable to transfer the 40% commission to TopTutors.sg Home Tuition, the tutor will be required to collect it on behalf of TopTutors.sg and transfer it as soon as possible.

4. Professional Conduct and Delivery of Tuition Service

Tutor Conduct:

• • All tutors are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and ethical manner.
  • If a tutor’s conduct is deemed unsatisfactory, immediate action will be taken to terminate their current assignments.

5. Child’s Learning and Commitment

Feedback to Parents:

• • Tutors should provide timely feedback to parents regarding the child’s learning progress.

6. Minimum Tutoring Period for Tutors

Commitment to Assignments:

• • Tutors are expected to commit to their assignments on a long-term basis, with a general guideline of at least 1 month.
  • If a tutor is unable to fulfill this commitment due to special reasons or circumstances, they are required to inform TopTutors.sg Home Tuition as early as possible.

Arrangements for Subsequent Lessons:

• • After the first lesson, the tutor is expected to make arrangements directly with the client for the second lesson and beyond.

7. Cancellation of Tutoring Assignments

Rescheduling Lessons:

• • Tutors may reschedule lessons if sufficient notice is given to the client and the client agrees to the rescheduling.
  • Tutors must inform clients immediately if a lesson needs to be canceled or rescheduled, with at least 24 hours’ notice.

Evidence for Cancellations:

• • Clients may request evidence for cancellations, such as a medical certificate (MC) or appointment details.

Minimum Lesson Requirement:

• • Once a tutor is confirmed for an assignment, they are required to deliver at least 1 month of lessons.
  • If a tutor provides fewer than 1 month of lessons, their tuition fees may be reduced, and TopTutors.sg Home Tuition will review the case on an individual basis.

Final Decision:

• • TopTutors.sg Home Tuition reserves the right to make the final decision in any case.
